  1. Describe a room of your childhood home with as many details as you can remember. What do you see? How do you feel? What do you want most to help you feel safe?
  2. Write a letter to yourself of a specific age detailing “Here is what I wish you would have known…”
  3. Choose an age. Choose a topic like joy, worry, family, shopping, laundry, food, or anything you’d like. Write a paragraph describing the topic from the point of view of yourself at that age. What do you wish you would know.
  4. What was a fear you had as a child? Are you still afraid of that now? What’s a fear you currently have? Do you see any connection between the two?
  5. Write about a time someone let you down as a child? How do you feel toward them? How do you feel toward your child self?
  6. When you think of someone acting like a child, “childish” or “immature” what do they mean to you? How did these views come about?
  7. Was there ever a time you needed to act like an adult as a child? Was it really your job? How do you think it affects you today?
  8. What was a place you felt safest as a child?
