I had been searching for a book addressing dissociation, as it shows up in moderation in those with trauma histories, and I was delighted to finally find this oldie but goodie. This book explains dissociation, the different ways it shows up, and explores it across the continuum. It provides language and understanding to depersonalization and derealization — phenomena that so many trauma victims just know as regular life. The book also offers guidance for healing is included, and I found it really interesting that the way the author goes about addressing dissociation in clients is with parts work very similar to IFS.
